The Times was the first national newspaper to break the story of the St Matthew's Jubilee Event. The News in Brief section reported that worshippers were each given £20 and told to "go forth and multiply". Fr Stuart has since appeared in Ruth Gledhill's Times blog.

On the Radio 2 Dawn Patrol, Sarah Kennedy read out the Times report in her religious news slot at 6.20am and commented, ‘Well, I wonder where the Vicar got the money from in the first place? Maybe we will never know!

On Radio Five Live Fr Stuart was interviewed on Drive Time. He’s been offered £200 to cook a meal. Asked what he might serve, he said his favourites change every day but lobster with a hint of chilli might be on today’s menu.

The article in the Guardian makes a lighthearted note that Fr Stuart is an Archer's fan but also makes the serious note that the fundraising event is based on the Parable of the Talents from the Gospel according to St Matthew.

The Local Guardian takes the prize for publishing the most scary picture of Fr Stuart in it's report of the event. In the article Fr Stuart states that "I decided to take a bit of a leap of faith and put my trust in the congregation".
